Stonehenge and Salisbury

Step through time with two of Britain's most significant historical artefacts in one awe inspiring journey, Stonehenge and Magna Carta. Stonehenge has a history spanning almost 5,000 years, it is a wonder of the world, a spiritual place and a source of inspiration. The Stone Circle is a masterpiece of engineering, and building it would have taken huge effort from hundreds of well-organised people using only simple tools and technologies. Step inside recreated Neolithic Houses to get a sense of what everyday life might have been like when Stonehenge was built.

Salisbury Cathedral was built between 1220 and 1258, and is Britain's finest 13th century Gothic Cathedral. Discover nearly 800 years of history, including Britain's tallest spire and Europe's oldest working clock. However, the Cathedral is best known as home to the finest preserved of only four surviving 1215 Magna Carta. This famous document is a symbol of justice, fairness, and human rights. It has inspired and encouraged movements for freedom and constitutional government in Britain and around the world. See the very document that has influenced legal systems throughout the world.
