We will be running a series of excursions to some fascinating towns and sites. within reach of London. We will board our virtual train for a day trip all from the comfort of your own home.
The tour will start with a bit of sightseeing in Salisbury. With the River Avon and medieval streets lined by half-timbered houses with high over-sailing upper floors and tall gables and rejoicing in names like Ox Row and Silver Street and Fish Row. Salisbury is Thomas Hardy’s Melchester and Anthony Trollope’s Barchester – and views over the meadows that Constable painted.
Our guide will take you into the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral, renowned for the largest cloister, tallest church spire and home to one of the few surviving copies of the Magna Carta.
