Walks Calendar

Our Mayflower Walks will be held every Friday and Saturday from Match to September and take about two hours.  All walks must be pre-booked using the registration form.  We will also run a series of walks up Walks which do not require pre-booking, these will run on the second Saturday of each month.

Mayflower in Rotherhithe

Rotherhithe is the village where master Christopher Jones lived and is buried, and from where the Mayflower crew were recruited. It is commonly believed to be the starting point for Mayflower's journey across the Atlantic in 1620, and where she ended her days on her return.

Mayflower in Bankside

An important area for the separatist movement. It was here that the London underground Church was established and religious dissidents were imprisoned. Outside the jurisdiction of the City, this was also a place for inns, theatres and brothels. A strange mix of moral and immoral people of London.

The City of London is often overlooked in the story of the Mayflower but this is where the funding for the hire of the Mayflower was raised. A group of financially astute men would lay the foundations for what are the venture capitalists of today. London has always been at the forefront of finance
